Growing up Josee was always active in sports like figure skating, gymnastics, swimming and dance. Immediately after graduating from high school she bought her first membership at a gym, and even though she enjoyed lifting weights and working on her cardiovascular endurance, she admits that she didn’t have a clue on what she was doing back then and wondered why her efforts didn’t seem to be having much physical effect on her body. It wasn’t until she started training at Precision Athletics fifteen years ago and under her husband Pepe Picco’s (Co-Founder/Master Trainer) wings, that her love for resistance training grew and she had a better understanding on how to weight train effectively using compound functional exercises.
After working many years in the mortgage industry, Josee decided to follow her passion for fitness and is very excited to be invested in a career where she has the opportunity to share her love for health and fitness to the clients she trains.
Josee believes in taking a rounded approach to her training sessions so the effectiveness of their workouts are maximized, their body is continually being challenged and their work outs are always aligned with their goals. She likes to empower her clients through encouragement and knowledge with every training session, gently pushing them past their comfort zone to build a stronger and healthier body. She also encourages having a nutrition plan in place to reach their body composition, physique goals and for overall health.
In Josephine’s spare time she enjoys being immersed outdoors and in nature. Paddle boarding across lakes, surfing in Tofino in the summer or skiing & snowboarding on our local mountains. Rowing, running and practicing a variety of martial arts from muay-thai kickboxing, boxing and recently exploring the art of Brazillian Jiu-Jiitsu. She also thrives on exploring the full spectrum of weight training to challenge her strength, speed and power.
